Early in my journey, I connected my love of photography and cross-pollinated it with my adoration of all things food. I wanted to know where my food came from. I have always been an advocate for quality vs quantity and I wanted to focus on farmers who were focusing on the same. This led me on a two year personal project where I photographed organic and sustainable young farmers in Northern California. I wanted to personally meet the individuals of my generation who are choosing to be stewards of the land. In the process I learned about soil health, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, food sovereignty and eating locally sourced nutrient dense food. This exploration has led me to meet some of the most soulful people and has been a deep lesson in the benefits of community. It has been an inspiration that will fuel many projects to come.
